Little story
After the ruins of the Visigoth city of Begastri, along a path lined with Albaricoqueros, you reach the Escobar, a small hamlet where the La Almazara Restaurant is located.
It occupies the space of an old oil mill from which the large and small harvests, the metal pitchers, the mill that replaced the stones and other machinery were converted. Tile plinth, treated clay floor and Tyrolean walls contrast with the tails of the aged ceiling, the result of the vapors of the oil-making process.
The team
The organizers and “heads” of the room; Carlos and Salvador Ortega. We have opted for professional training in the restaurant service, so that serving our customers is an added value, each of our dishes … each glass of our wines … must be the protagonist of the “staging “of the excellence of our service, which is the result of in-depth knowledge of the tastes of our customers.
Laura Ortega
Our Chef
With the purpose of safeguarding the recipes of traditional cuisine and at the same time developing complementary and innovative proposals to delight our palate, our Chef Laura Ortega has structured a very complete menu, in which there is no lack of regional and regional products such as Calasparra rice, vegetables, mushrooms and seasonal fruits. She has also taken the care to extract the aromas and flavors of yesteryear, the smoke from the fireplace, the spring flowers or the smell of green apricots, passing through the aroma of orange blossom or the salted fish of the Mar Menor. In our menu you will find a summary of this dedication and also, outside of the menu, we have seasonal options, so that you can taste “whatever it is” in each season. In short, a complete proposal for your delight.
